POP Mail What is POP mail?
christianoutdoorsman.net email accounts can be accessed either through your browser [Web-mail] or through your desktop email client [POP mail]. Your desktop email client uses the Post Office Protocol (POP3) to receive emails - hence the term POP mail.
The benefit of using a POP client for your mail, as opposed to a Web-based service, is that you do not have to be online to read and reply to your emails. With POP, you can connect to the Internet and automatically download your messages using any popular POP mail client such as MS Outlook, Netscape Messenger, Eudora, etc... Once you have received your messages, you can disconnect from the Net.
Your emails will always be available on your computer for viewing, replying, or whatever other purpose even if you are offline! For example, you can compose a new email offline; when you next connect to the Net, your client will automatically send your messages.
Modern POP clients offer a host of features ranging from customizable views to comprehensive filtering. Some clients can even check and manage several accounts at a time.
If your account is still not POP enabled, go to: Options > Get Upgraded! > POP Mail now!

POP Mail Using POP and Web-mail together
You can easily use both christianoutdoorsman.net Web and POP mail at the same time but please be aware of the following:
-Your POP client will receive all emails, read and unread, that are located in your christianoutdoorsman.net Inbox folder.
-Your POP client will NOT receive emails that are in your other christianoutdoorsman.net folders, like Sent Items, Deleted, etc...
- If you configure your POP client to Leave Messages On Server, all messages received by your POP client will still be available on the christianoutdoorsman.net Web-mail interface.
- If you configure your POP client to NOT Leave Messages On Server, all messages received by your POP client will NOT be available on the christianoutdoorsman.net Web-mail interface.
-We do not recommend saving emails on the server because your Web mail will reach its maximum allowed space at a faster rate. When your Web-mail storage limit [quota] is reached, you will not be able to receive emails.
-You will only be able to use POP to download messages that were recieved to your christianoutdoorsman.net account after 31st of October 2001.

POP Mail SMTP Server
What is SMTP?
Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) is a protocol for sending email messages on the Internet.
What is POP?
Post Office Protocol (POP) is a protocol for receiving emails on the Internet.
christianoutdoorsman.net only provides access to its POP server which means you connect to our servers to receive mails but must connect to someone else's SMTP server to send emails.
Your local Internet Service Provider will provide you access to their SMTP server. When you set-up your email client, you will fill in the address of your ISPs "Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server" and our "Incoming Mail (POP) Server". Contact your ISP directly for the SMTP server name if you do not already know it.
